Blog entry We're Going Live!

03 September 2010

Over the past two weeks tested our new version of Freerice with its shiny, new features. Everyone who has played this beta version has been central to helping us remove bugs and iron out the kinks, particularly thanks to the comments gathered through our Feedback tab (in case you haven’t noticed it, take a look at the left of your screen, you will see an orange tab with the word “Feedback”. Click on it to share your thoughts!). You have also encouraged with positive feedback on the features you like.

We are very nearly ready to make the beta version available to all Freerice players.

On September 7, we will switch the beta version with the old version, so when you arrive at the url you will be playing this new version that you have helped to make so successful!

The success of this game lies in the power of the collective. Thousands of players raising grains every day, has enabled us to raise enough to feed 4.2 million people for a day. For this reason, your experience is central.

If you have any pressing feedback or urgent bugs, please would you post them in the Feedback to help us ensure a smooth transition on September 7? We will retain the feedback tab – this is in fact one of the most exciting and useful features of our new Freerice.

Many thanks for all the great ideas you shared with us through the years that have led to this new and exciting version of Freerice!

Now, it’s just a matter of inviting your friends, creating groups and enjoying the experience of learning while you help others...

I just answered a thousand questions but I don't see my totals reflecting this. Other members of my group (Guyana - we care) have had a similar experience over the past week.
