Blog entry Team Up With "The Hunger Games" Cast

24 February 2012

One month before the release of the much-anticipated film The Hunger Games, the cast and producers have teamed up with WFP and Feeding America to raise awareness about world hunger with the launch of a video public service announcement and a new website.

Greatest solvable problem

The stars of the movie Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth have filmed a video spot urging their fans to help end hunger.

Hunger is the world’s greatest solvable problem, affecting 1 in 7 people – almost one billion men, women and children around the world.

The Hunger Games partnership will engage fans of the book and movie and enable them to make a difference through a new website with a Hunger Quiz to learn more about hunger. Supporters can also make a donation to actively become a part of the solution and help solve world hunger.

You can team up with the Hunger Games cast at Hungergames.wfp.org

The Hunger Games is an upcoming movie produced by Lionsgate™ that arrives in theatres in the US on March 23, 2012. It is the first film based on the highly successful book series by Suzanne Collins.

The Hunger Games has*everything* to do with hunger. It was a great example of the elite being wasteful and that resulting in so many less fortunate mouths never being fed. Children were constantly dying of starvation and/or forced to take out Tesserae to provide food for their families. I think it "has to do with hunger" very much so.

Just because this is the hunger games doesn't mean they get to advertise here. The movie has nothing to do with hunger, I've read the book, and making ads here devalues the movie.
