I am addicted to this! Try to donate a minimum of 1000 grains every day. It's a great way to learn and do something useful at the same time.

I think russian, latin, and swahili should be added under languages :) also making this so people could play it on iphones would also be pretty cool.

Games for the win! Tetris and each line is 100 rice!

I think this is an awesome website but in order to make it better free rice could add more subjects. Other subjects could be animals (questions about animals), Latin as another language, and music as another category ( what do these notes or symbols mean, who wrote this song or what is the name of this song, and questions like which of these instruments is in the string group.
Keep answering those questions free rice members and join my group (The Trail To Help) to help even more!!!!!

Kid Charlemagne -- I've experienced the non-loading 'loading...' icon. And it only started when Free Rice 2.0 began! I hope before they decide to add all these suggestions that they'll iron out all the bugs.

It would be cool if we could have more subjects, and if we could have a map and track where the rice is going to.

I love this site as well! It would be cool to be able to communicate more with members.

Why are there no longer banners across the bottom of every reload of the screen? it seems like only 2/3 of the time there is actually someone sponsoring the rice. is all our questions still gaining rice, or just the ones when a banner apears?

I'd love if there was a way to fill in your own questions and answers. It would be a great way for students to study for their classes.

I think it would be nice if, when you select a level, you STAY on that level until you change it manually. I moved my way up to level 10 in Spanish, but I've memorized all the level 10 words while I still don't know some of the lower-level words.
If that won't work, then perhaps you could add more words to level 10? I know there are about 60, but FreeRice makes it very easy to memorize foreign language vocabulary words. I memorized all 60 in less than a week thanks to FreeRice!

I like free rice , my sister showed it to me. I think it needs more subjects and music.

I think a lot of subjects have a limited pool of questions, so you get questions repeating quite often.

For example: French and other foreign languages --

It would be nice to have all of the choice words in the question lexicon. For example, "le plancher" = floor, but I also receive choices for "gold", "duck", and "pleasure". Add in the French words for the latter three (incorrect) choices as well! It would certainly break up the monotony of some of the questions I'm asked; they repeat too often.

I'd like to see some new languages on the site (Swedish for example would be awesome but I very well understand that I must be in the minority with this wish) and I'd love to be able to practise Spanish grammar here as well.

I love this game!!!!!! You can even use this as a game when you have friends over. It is fun!!!

It would be awsome if you could add Japanese as a language....it would give people a chace to learn a symbolized language, you could use hirigana since its the simplist

I would like to see harder math, all the way up to Calculus would actually be amazing, as there is a lot of questions one can make with Calculus (If you need help, just look up questions online, look into a text book, or ask me for question ideas). For Example:

The integral of sec^2x dx is....

this could be a lvl 1 or 2 question (btw it's tanx + C).

Another thing I agree with is the history thing, as well as more science categories such as biology, and even medicine! A lot can be done with medicine, and I for one would be hard core addicted for sure! Plus, you can add latin to language possibly, that would be amazing as well!!!!!!

Definitely more subjects- especially world history, literature, civics, music, and biology- all subjects commonly taught in high school or even grade school classrooms. Plus there seems to be a demand for more languages, including Latin. Personally I would love to see Russian included as one of the languages, although that’s a long shot. Also, preexisting categories could use more levels.

What a difference Free Rice is making in the lives of millions -- mind boggling!!

There are enough great ideas listed I won't add to them! HoWeVeR... I'm having problems loading vocabulary -- particularly Level 21 and up. Is anyone else experiencing any loading problems?

And I'll echo Jim995's question: How do I connect with friends???

Before all the "improvements", this site used to work properly. NOW the total below the rice bowl stalls sometimes--or the question section stalls while the little indicator just spins and spins and spins and SPINS--or no questions load when I change subjects--AND I SEE NO INDICATION THAT THESE PROBLEMS WILL EVER BE FIXED!!!!!!!!!!

I would also like to see apps made for mobile devices, in order to increase the easy with which people can donate rice.

More topics would be a good idea. Physics and biology come to mind, but it might be difficult to implement. I would also strongly, strongly recommend against "bible trivia." Some users here forget that the fundamental mission of the site is to help people around the globe. Along with helping comes tolerance and acceptance, both of different cultures and religions. I.e., not everyone in the world is Chrisian.

Lastly, topics like music might be fun, but another objective of Freerice is betterment. I don't see how knowing pop stars would be useful for self-improvement.

Just my opinions. :)

This is a wonderful site. :) I make a point of donating a little rice every day, if I can.

My only suggestions are more information on where the rice being donated is going - seconding someone above - and possibly one or two more language categories. I'd love to see simplified Mandarin or Arabic vocabulary subjects.

This site has been riddled with bugs ever since the "new, improved" version was launched.

Often, the total above the "playing field" will keep counting grains, while the total below the rice bowl will stall. I don't know which total, if either, I can trust.

Also, now the game often does not move to the next question after I click an answer. It just stalls.

It happens on both my home PCs, and on the PC I use at work, so it's not a problem with one PC.

It's not the Internet provider, either, because my employers use a different Net provider than I use at home.

Also, I don't remember any such problems on the old Free Rice.

I despair that these problems will ever be fixed, and I am severely tempted to quit Free Rice.

Has anyone else noted these problems with the new Free Rice?

It needs more subjects :science, us history, world history, algebra.....

i know this site was originally meant to fight hunger and help educate in a fun environment, but adding more categories such as music or movies would bring in so many people.

it would also be great if new questions could be generated so people dont get bored once they begin to memorize them all.

Great themes.
AND its really easy to navigate how to do stuff.

Suggestions:
Please make a freerice app on the iPhone and the iPod touch.
More themes (like sports music and other languages.
Chat rooms (friend ones and open rooms)

Expanding the topics would appeal to a lot more people... Not only adding more general topics (such as history) but also subtopics (Roman history, Greek history, etc). Also, maybe a percentage of questions answered correctly, for those who are interested in knowing.

Love Freerice! I am agreeing to someone's comment on showing how many people we have fed. Maybe make sections for SAT prep and other standardized test subjects. This is a fun way without any pressure to prepare for standardized tests. Also history (ancient, medieval, current, presidents, Amendments) and other science subjects like biology. Also subjects for younger kids, it would be a great teaching tool to any parent or teacher.
