Why is March 20 an important day? It's International Francophone Day, an annual celebration of the French language around the world.

Why is this important? We have a new ‘La Francophonie’ subject on Freerice en français. And because with over 200 million French enthusiasts around the world - its very likely that you know a French speaker or enthusiast to share the subject with in celebration of the day.

‘La Francophonie’ subject offers several hundred questions on Francophone music, proverbs, movies and more. Do you know which Francophone country the creator of ‘Tintin’ belonged to or what a dollar is called in Québec, Canada? If the answer is no, head over to Freerice en français to learn more. If your answer is yes, go "rice up" en français!

Allez, this Francophonie week, it's time to French it up while "riceing up" on Freerice!

La langue française est une langue très sophistiquée et j'ai toujours voulu l'apprendre. J'utilise un site Web traduit donc je ne sais rien encore! Il serait très amusant d'apprendre les accents et leur langue! GO FRANCE! : D
