Blog entry Freerice in Motion

23 November 2011

Freerice like you’ve never seen it before! This brand-new video is another reminder that Freerice is not your average trivia game....

We hope this video will help introduce the site to new players. Why is that important? Because the more people who play, the more rice we raise and the more people we can help. So far, we have raised enough to feed almost 5 million people.

The power of Freerice lies in everyone doing our small part. So please share this video with friends and family, and let's rice up against hunger!

A long-time Freericer, Kim Sokol, created this video for us. Thank you, Kim!

For more videos, visit the Freerice YouTube Channel.

P.S. For all of those from the United States, wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving!

All the rice raised on Freerice has been going towards Cambodia since June 2011. Find out more about Cambodia here.

Freerice is maintained by and supports the United Nations World Food Programme, the world's largest humanitarian organisation fighting hunger worldwide. To find out more go to

Freerice is awesome and it helps you learn. I used this to study for my elements test and I got a 100.

I think FreeRice should advertise! It is such a great programme that helps millions in need. I just joined yesterday, and I have donated 8000 grains! :) To feed someone for a whole day, it takes 3200 grains, so let's get donating people! XD

I think this website is a brilliant idea - I can study for GCSE's and help the starving people - and lets just say its addictive. I have joined for approximately 40minutes and have already raised 1,400 grains of rice. This is great as I don't have disposable income so cannot afford to donate, this means I can help! BLOODY LOVE<3

By the beginning of 2012, we should have 100 billion grains of rice at a TOTAL.

I say, this is a very effective way of helping to fight hunger. You learn from the trivia's, and you help those in need! Everyone should do this because this can be very addicting a really good time killer for when your bored!
