Blog entry Freerice Christmas Drive (virtually)

21 December 2010

Steve Matchett is a Formula One commentator on American TV network's Speed Channel. He is not only obsessed with Formula One racing, but is also a die-hard Freerice fan. This Christmas, as he did last year, Steve is holding a Freerice Christmas drive.

The idea is simple: build a virtual Formula One race car, by converting the weight of rice grains into parts of the car to create a complete car! The more rice you earn, the more the car is built.

You can join Steve's virtual Formula One racing team by becoming a member of his group, Eff-One-Grain-At-A-Time. The group is speeding ahead with almost 3 million grains of rice already raised!

Take a look at Steve's virtual Formula One racing car:

Thats pretty cool, but I think should also get some props, as started a group called Minethings where a bunch of us players from that website came over here and in just about a week got 1 million rice! By the way is a game website, so I personally think minething deserves some props because a bunch of kids came together and earned 1 million rice in a week.

Excellent! I look forward to seeing how many grains of rice can be donated by this team :)
